Answers to the usual questions below. Anything else — bugs, ideas, a film that's missing, a match that's wrong — goes straight to a human.

Do I need an account?

No. CONTINUE AS GUEST gives you the whole app. A guest account lives on your device — sign in with Apple from Settings whenever you want your list to survive a new phone, and everything you've played carries over.

How does the ranking work?

Every duel is a comparison: this film over that one. Your list is built from your own picks — films you choose rise, films you pass over sink — and the same picks feed the global charts as one vote among everyone's. There are no scores to give and no stars to count. If a film's position looks wrong, play it a few times: the list obeys your choices, not our opinions.

What's the lightning round?

The first time you mark a film seen on its page, you can place it with five quick duels against your own list. Five rounds, then back to normal — and the film sits where you actually rate it.

How do I share a reel?

In Instagram or TikTok, tap Share on the post and pick Save to Cinedex (on iOS you may need to add it once: scroll the app row to the end → More → Edit). Cinedex reads the post, finds the films, and you tick which ones to save. Public posts only — private accounts can't be read.

Why can't movie night find anything?

Usually because the filters are doing exactly what they say: nothing anyone present has seen, under a runtime, on specific services, or only from watchlists. Drop one filter at a time — the list updates instantly.

Notifications

Settings → ALERTS has two switches: films from your watchlist arriving on your services, and the occasional nudge about what's already waiting. Both are opt-in, and the system permission is only requested after you flip one on.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT. It's immediate and permanent — the account, duels, list and watchlist are deleted from the servers, no grace period, no emails asking if you're sure. Details in the privacy policy.
